Energy efficient living<\/h2>\n

The climate forest, fa\u00e7ade greenery and terraces form a lush landscape on and around The Hive. ‘Green’ is the key word here, in all its facets. Every aspect of energy supply has been carefully considered to create an ecological overall story. <\/p>\n

The project is connected to the Amsterdam heat grid and uses an innovative cold-heat storage system. In this way, the apartments achieve an energy label of at least A+++ or even A++++ and are therefore very economical. Nothing but benefits for your energy bill. <\/p>\n

The large proportion of solar panels ensures that more energy is generated than is required for the building’s installations. Rainwater is collected and buffered in wadis. <\/p>\n

At The Hive we are not only creating a new building. We also build with materials that already had a life.<\/p>\n

For the structure we use Urban Mining Concrete. Concrete from existing buildings gains a new purpose. Specialists process it into sand, gravel and cement and transform it into high quality concrete again. Concrete forms a large part of any building. By reusing materials we can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 63 percent <\/strong>while maintaining the same quality, comfort and safety.<\/p>\n

In this way The Hive does more than create new homes. It contributes to a city that uses its resources more wisely.<\/p>\n
